Southlake Vision Associates and Brooks Eye Center joined together in 2016 to create Kirkwood Eye Center. After 10 years of practicing at Southlake Vision Associates next to LensCrafters in the Southlake Town Center, Dr. Peter Zanella and his wife, Dr. Debbie Zanella, had outgrown their small space and wanted to provide a more comfortable environment for their patients and staff. Patients at their location probably remember coming in and seeing their new technology each year. The tiny rooms were overflowing with computers and equipment! Dr. Peter Zanella has always had a passion for utilizing new technology to stay on the cutting edge of eye care, and they needed more space to be able to continue providing the best care for patients. Dr. Peter Zanella and Dr. Deborah Zanella decided to build a new office and want to offer their patients the convenience of access to everything they need for their family’s eye care under one roof.
Dr. Taylor Brooks of Brooks Eye Center and Ortho-Keratology has provided eye care to the Grapevine area and surrounding communities for 17 years. Dr. Brooks is one of the only doctors in the Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, and Trophy Club areas to provide specialty eye care like ortho-keratology, vision therapy, and sports vision. In order to better care for his patients, Dr. Brooks was also looking to move to a new space.
Through a coincidence of Dr. Brooks’s daughter and the Zanella’s daughter performing at the same piano recital, Dr. Brooks and Dr. Peter Zanella met and became friends. They soon realized they had a shared goal of providing their patients with exceptional eye care in a family-oriented office, and they also realized they could better do that by merging their offices and areas of expertise. Soon, Kirkwood Eye Center was born! Today, the three doctors work together to provide comprehensive eye care for the whole family.
